Bill often visits classrooms to read to children.

William Middleton grew up in West Sand Lake, in upstate New York where he attended the Averill Park school system. In the summers he would work with his father building area homes. He touts his father as a great influence as was his mother on his future. Bill's father stressed a trade which has served him well throughout his life, while his mother always stressed the arts! She was a wonderful artist and wrote poetry, which is published in the Llibrary of Congress.

When Bill was 19 he attended the Art Student League in New York City to study illustration under Frank Reilly. While he was there he took employment at the Richard Bridges Advertising Studio. While it was a great experience, thoughts of family brought him home. In Albany at that time there wasn't any real hope for a career in illustration, so he fell back into the building field which he knew would earn a living.

Expanding his education he went on to study at the Albany School of Real Estate, where he later taught a course in building. Having a real estate license put him in a unique position of building homes and then selling them himself. During this career he studied at SUNY Albany and earned a certification in assessing for New York State. After a long and lucrative career, Bill finally retired but still needed to keep active. And so an author was born.
